Abstract: A diciott'anni Rita Rosani non immagina certo di essere destinata a diventare un'eroina della Resistenza. La sua vita è quella normale di un'adolescente nella Trieste degli anni '30, ma Rita è una ragazza ebrea e dal 1938, con la promulgazione delle leggi razziali, il mondo comincia a crollarle addosso. Viene espulsa da un giorno all'altro dalla scuola; patisce con la sua famiglia ogni sorta di discriminazioni; perde il fidanzato, deportato in un campo d'internamento allo scoppio della guerra; finché in lei si compie quella trasformazione che la porterà a combattere nelle file partigiane.
