Abstract: Laura, autrice del diario, e Ahmed sono compagni di scuola. Il nonno del ragazzino, da poco giunto in Italia, soffre di una grave forma di tristezza e mutismo, che la famiglia non riesce ad affrontare. I due piccoli allora progettano di trovare per lui un gambri, lo strumento a corde che il nonno suonava in Marocco per raccontare storie. Aiutati dal cugino di Laura, Michele, e da Amina, operatrice sociale, i bambini cercano il gambri in diversi luoghi e finiscono per trovarlo in un mercato di oggetti usati a Milano...
